eBay Two Taylor Hobson vintage projection lenses. The lenses comprising a ”Maximum” 5 inch 127mm f2.6 and an ”Ultimum” 53/4 inch 146mm f2.2 Projection Lenses. An attractive and interesting pair of fast late 1920’s modified Petzvals, the lenses in good condition for their age. There is internal dust, a small rub or mark here and there, a tiny ? spot (it may well just clean off) on the periphery of the rear glass of the Maximum (see 12 O’Clock photo 12), and the beginnings of separation in the front cemented doublet of each. I would regard none of these as significant to usage, the lenses retaining, for the most part, bright glass and having excellent barrels. Examined under strong direct light there are cleaning marks on both lenses – ranging from moderate to quite heavy depending on how viewed. Pictures 4-12 Maximum Pictures 13-19 Ultimum Rulers shown are in cm. The lenses are fine for projection and, subject to the impact of cleaning marks, should make good material for adaptation for use on digital bodies. Pick up by arrangement.
