Joe Cordova (Passed away April, 2022) Custom Bob Loveless style Knife #224 ATS-34 Stainless Steel Blade Custom Tapered Full Tang Bone Handle Scrimshaw of: Four of a Kind: Aces with King High Red and Silver Liners Nickel Silver Engraved Pins and Ferrule Engraved Nickel Silver Double Hilt Awesome Original Grind onBlade Original Sheath Near Mint Condition. Super Sharp!!! Update: Sadly, Mr. Joe Cordova passed away in April 2022 at the age of 86. He will be greatly missed by all in the knife making community. From the Internet: Bob Loveless considered Joe Cordova to be one of the best makers and he had bought several of Joe’s knives. Joe Cordova Passed away in April, 2022 ”I am a full time maker and make knives using both forged and stock removal methods. My first knife was made in 1953. I am a former board member and past chairman of the American Bladesmith Society. I make one of kind designs, some to customer specifications. I have studied with Bill Moran and Bob Loveless and do make some Moran styles, as well as Loveless style hunters. For my forged blades I use 5160, L6, 1095, 15N20 Damascus. I use ATS-34, CPM154 & S30VTEC for my stock removal styles. Earned ABS Mastersmith in 1993.” Near mint, custom Bob Loveless style knife made by Joe Cordova himself. A true one of a kind knife with custom scrimshaw of four of a kind; Aces with King high on the handle. Also engraved double hilt and pins on the handle. This is an example of Mr. Cordova’s early work being marked #224. Most likely made in the 1976-1977’ish period. This knife has been displayed but not used or resharpened. The blade has the original hollow grind and a super sharp original edge. Blade has a mirror finish. Blade is stamped: ”Cordova Made ALBQ. N.M.” Originally made for Alfonso Jaramillo whose name is engraved on opposite side of the blade: ”Alfonso S. Jaramillo” The handle scales have some typical checking and cracking due to age. Handle is solid as a rock! Super nice belt or boot clip style original sheath. Very slight handling marks, nicks and rub marks on the original leather sheath. This knife will serve you for your lifetime and you can hand it down to the grandkids. Love that awesome American craftsmanship! SPECS:See list above.4-3/4″ blade is 7/8″ wide made from 3/16″ thick stainless steel stock. Overall length: 9-1/8″.
