Nothing really brings out the performance of an air-cooled engine quite like a dual carburetor kit. Unfortunately, there are so many inferior kits out there full of Chinese knock-off carbs and poor-quality linkage that do nothing but make your engine run bad and ruin your VW experience. Luckily real Spanish-made Weber carbs are still available! This kit comes from Redline, the largest importer of Weber in the United States who has been making quality kits to run Weber carbs on your VW since the 70s! This kit comes with 2 x 40 Genuine Weber IDF carburetors along with a top quality hexbar linkage that is designed for your air-cooled VW Type 3 engine. The kit includes shorter manifolds and air cleaners so it will fit underneath the engine cover. This carbs are jetted by Redline for dual port VW engines in the 1776cc-1835cc range. While this fit will fit any dual-port 1600cc and up engine, we don’t recommend running these on a 1600cc engine as it’s simply too much carburetion. Also, regardless of engine size, depending on the vehicle this is going in, your driving style, altitude and so on you may need to adjust the jetting – we offer several different jet packs in our other auctions and can also supply individual jets, emulsion tubes and other parts if needed. These carbs will need to be synced after installation – the tool to do this is NOT included Do it once, do it right! What you get: 1 x K1317 – Redline dual carburetor kit with two Genuine Weber 40 IDFs – comes complete with hexbar linkage, dual port intakes manifolds, air cleaners, hardware and fuel hose (as shown in the picture). This kit comes with FREE technical assistance through Redline for 1 year after purchase Applications: only with a 1600cc-based dual-port engine carbureted Type 3 1962-1973 – early cars must have been converted to dual-port heads to use this kit – it will NOT fit single-port engines. This kit is only designed for a Type 3 engine! It includes shorter manifolds and air cleaners. Carbs must be synced after installation and may require some rejetting.
