Dorset 14 Transistor 1675 1962 Serviced Repaired works Excellent Vintage VTG The radio works like new and is in very lightly used condition. If you’d like to read my description of the work I’ve done that has restored this radio to full performance, please read on: Made in Japan, the radiomuseum.org entry for this model says it was made in 1962. I agree. It came to me 9-28-2024 with the typical “Low Volume” problem which is the typical symptom of open/shorted capacitors, which is very common with electronics this old. With the radio working at full performance, the volume was screaming loud and I found that it also had a bad volume control. I replaced the volume control pot with a good working used control which fixed the radio. Repaired, it’s loud. Volume control goes smoothly from totally silent to blazing overload loud. It produces a clean and clear sound. It’s sensitive. I was able to easily zoom straight to the local weak stations in my area I use to confirm a radio is working correctly. It is. Its acrylic cabinet is clean, glossy, reflective, and shows signs of very light use. Nothing missing. Nothing broken. No chips. No cracks. The cabinet does show very light scuffing and hairlines. The metal front is perfect. Sixty year old acrylic plastic can shrink slightly with time. I mentioned that the cabinet has nothing broken. Regardless of that, the back has shrank slightly over the years and it doesn’t click on tightly. It does stay on, but I thought I should mention it. Please see my photos. I service almost all the vintage radios I sell on eBay. Serviced = I clean the volume control, check the radio’s alignment, and check its current draw. It looks good. Very pretty. Collector quality.
