(translation: Decorative Painting in France from the XVI to the XVIII Century by Gelis-Didot, P.) The color plates show the architecture styles and colors from the 16th to 18th centuries. They all have rich, deep colors with gold gilt throughout. Many of the plates have unique and beautiful scenes ranging from women figures and cherubs, to religious and patterns. The litho’s show the different pieces of architecture that were stylized during that time, such as wallpaper/ wall panels, sconces, archways, rafters, carvings, ceilings, churches, molding, doorways, and more. Each page is unique and has a different symbol underneath the main picture, the symbols are anything from a harp to a skull and crossbones. These will be shipped flat (not rolled), as they are to delicate to roll. We also have other color plates for sale that are similar to these in our store, please take a look.
