These are new capacitors. Nichicon’s EP series are robust capacitors for applications that require a non-polarized (bipolar) capacitor. Unlike most bipolar electrolytic capacitors, these are rated to a maximum temperature of 105C instead of 85C. Nichicon EP are closely related to the Nichicon VP series, which are marketed for use in entertainment electronics such as audio amplifiers. The difference is that the EP series has a higher temperature rating and associated endurance. These capacitors are sold in sets of 4. To get 8 capacitors, you would buy 2 of these ”items”. Manufacturer Nichicon Series EP Polarity Non-polarized / Bipolar (due to how they are constructed, nonpolar electrolytics are often referred to as ”Bipolar”) Capacitance 10uF Max Voltage Rating 25V This is the maximum voltage that the capacitor is rated to tolerate. It is safe to replace a lower rated original, such as a 16V rated cap. Temperature Rating 105°C Diameter 5mm Lead Spacing 2.0mm Body Height 11mm Rated Endurance 1,000hrs at 105°C (much higher at realistic temperatures) Endurance scales dramatically with reduced temperature. Taking the 105°C rating into account, these have higher effective endurance than most 85°C rated alternatives of this size.
